aBOUT zEHARA nACHASH

Zehara Nachash is a celebrated performer, teacher, and choreographer. For over fifteen years, Zehara performed in New England as "Boston's Resident Snake Charmer" (Boston Globe, 2005). She and her serpentine dance partners have performed at countless venues including weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, concerts and more. Zehara has studied Turkish and Egyptian styles of Middle Eastern dance as well as other dance styles ranging from Russian Romany to West African. She is also a glass walker and fire eater. Zehara has been troupe director of “The Daughters of Eden,” (2005-2007), “Alankara,” (2008-2011) and her PRIMAL FUSION WORLD DANCE ™ troupe “Huntress,” (2010-2015). Furthermore, Zehara has hosted and produced several successful theatrical shows such as “Kalliope's Karavan,” (2008-2011) and “ANIMUS: A Shamanic Journey Through Dance,” (2012-2015), elevating the art of Belly Dance and sideshow arts to a theatrical setting. Zehara has been featured in music videos' including Mexican singer Tamara Rodriguezs' “Italian-O” video (with her snakes Bella and Kaala) as well as in an online advertising campaign for Absolute Vodka's Apple Orient ™. In 2012, Zehara was an opening act for the Counting Crows for their performance at The House of Blues for Big Brothers & Big Sisters Fundraiser. Zehara has performed and taught Belly Dance classes in both Flagstaff and Tucson Arizona and Tampa, Florida. Drawing upon her study in a variety of movement forms, spiritual traditions, anthropology, ancient history, and her passion for dance as a channel for mystical potential, Zehara created PRIMAL FUSION WORLD DANCE ™ in 2010. Inspired by the earth-based spirituality found in indigenous tribal cultures from around the world and the universal language of dance as an expression of self, PRIMAL combines a mixture of Aboriginal, African and Middle Eastern dance to create a spirited dance course that helps students release, let go and empower themselves through primal energy-based movement.

Additionally, it was Zehara's destiny to walk the path of the Shadow world and non-traditional forms of spiritual practices. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, a fourth-generation witch, Zehara draws deeply from her life-long study and practice of several magickal and spiritual traditions, including, but not limited to Gnosticism, Hermeticism, Ceremonial Magick and Shamanism. Zehara has been scrying and doing intuitive card readings since her early teens and learned Russian folk magick from her grandmother. Zehara is a former student of The Sacred Magick of Ancient Egypt and a former member of Temple Harakhte (2001-2004) run by Rosemary Clark. In 2002, via synchronicity, Zehara met Balaam Ben Solomon and joined The Temple of the Seekers, a Witchcraft/Ceremonial Magick group based in West Roxbury, MA. In 2004 she was initiated into the Temple and remained a member for ten years before leaving the group to venture off on her own. Zehara is well versed in both the Goetia (Lesser Key of Solomon) and the Kabbalah. Furthermore, Zehara has taught multiple classes across the United States on serpentine mythology and magick, enhancing intuition, spirit communication and has also created a comprehensive ecstatic dance and trance workshops. In 2012, Zehara was called to Voodoo after a dream of a White Serpent, a practice which has brought her closer to her ancestors. She is currently under the tutelage of Mambo Samantha Corfield of the House of the Nine Mysteries working towards initiation. Zehara is a monthly contributor to Witch Way Magazine and published her first book in 2019 "Grave Spirits" which discusses her work and research with working with the Dead. She has since to go on to write two other books, “Snake & Bones Little Book of Magick” and “Snake Charming.” Zehara is a professional Tarot Reader, Paranormal Researcher and Clairsentient Physical Medium. Zehara is at the Founder and Creator of the Pagans Behind Bars Project, a website that brings together Pagan Ministry and Resources for Pagan and Wiccan inmates across the United States. ​​​Zehara holds a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Keiser University in Florida and is currently working on her Masters Degree with a focus on Prison reform. She currently lives in Richmond, VA with her chihuahua Fox Mulder.
